Wall of Respect for Women Choir—dedication concert
Choir leader/organizer Ruthie, Ed Friedland, Mili Bermejo, Marcia Guntzel, Roberta Radley, one of Mili’s students, Sue Farley, Kris Adams, Lynn Vadala, Athena, Melissa Rivard, Joanne Schumacher, Jonatha Brooke, Daniela Tosic, Maureen Strong and Gaye Tolan-Hatfield. Somerville artist Be Allen Sargent painted this mural, A Wall of Respect for Women—to communicate to all women that we are respected, defended and valued by the community. The mural is 100 x 16 feet on the drugstore in Davis Square, Somerville. Endorsements by RESPOND, Somerville Commission for Women, Boston women’s Health Collective, Somerville Chamber of Commerce and [then] mayor Capuano.
